A Thanksgiving weekend with no hoops?

We spent a quiet turkey week....thanks to Mom and Dad, we had a place to eat. And this year is our first year in a long long time that we have no basketball games that we have to run to all weekend long. Weird, but nice.

Bj won an award at school for demonstrating Eagle Pride....We got to go to a breakfast at his school in honor of the kids that won. It was nice. He is just a really good kid. He recently got a progress report.....3 A's and 3 B's. Cant argue with that.

Danielle had her first parent teacher conference for kindergarten. Mommy was NERVOUS. I have a tendency to worry about things....In case you hadn't heard. But to no surprise to Busia and Daddy, Danielle is doing very well.....I guess Mommy isn't surprised either, but really really relieved. Danielle has already met some of the end of the year goals for kindergarteners and will be being pulled into some smaller groups for more accomplished kids to learn some more new things. Danielle was described by her teacher, Mrs Allie, as shy and quiet. She also mentioned that she is afraid to let the teacher know that she knows an answer. Maybe I should invite Mrs Allie over.

Brian and Danielle put up the tree on Friday night while I did a little shopping. She was very proud of her work. You can see it in the background with some of her photos. She also made Super Bouncy Balls this weekend for a craft project. If you look really close, there are two of them in her hand.

Since the weather was soooooo nice, Brian put our lights on the house and hung up our wreaths. ( I caught a break on helping out this year....Danielle and I were out shopping,) We almost went to see Santa. At the last minute, one of us got cold feet. (Wasnt me...I was ready to ask for mommy to win the lottery) We settled on just looking at Santa from the top level of the mall. I told Danielle just to tell Santa from there what she wanted and that I was sure he would hear her.

Other than that....work continues for us here. All is well.

Daddy is 40? Is that old Mommy?

Yes, Danielle, Daddy is 40 and no its not old. Brian decided to forgo any big birthday bashes this year. We had no cake (crazy I know), no parades, no nothing. That was hard for me, hard for Danielle. But its what Daddy wanted. Thanks to Busia, and after arriving home from A2, Dziadzia, I was able to take Brian away to Lake Geneva for a little birthday get away on Saturday. We had a great dinner, Brian had a bottle of wine, and still I got no cake. But its not my birthday is it?

Other news....BJ made the varsity basketball team, and then in a move that surprised us all, decided he didnt really want to stay on the team. Torn feelings on that one. We (he) is going to focus on running and preparing for track season in the spring. Im not quite sure how Brian, Danielle and I will adjust to not having a game to run to two or three times a week, but we shall see.

Miss Danielle has started cheerleading class again on Wednesday nights. We even picked a new "school" to take class at. There are only 5 little girls in her hour long class. They get quite a bit of instruction here. Its fun to watch her clap and cheer and do her cartwheels. Its even nicer that she is so tuckered out afterwards that she goes right to sleep after her bath. (Score for Mommy)

I have my first parent teacher conference for Danielle coming up on Nov 21. That should be good.

Otherwise, no really new news here. Brian is still trying to put together his ping pong table from Mom and Dad...not so easy of an assembly as the directions claim. But once its together, we look forward to hours and hours of fun!!!
