Turnabout

BJ and his girlfriend braved an ice storm to head out to the Turnabout Dance on Saturday night. Here they are in their finest attire. This is Ariel. BJ's girlfriend. She is a sophomore at his school. She runs CC with him. Danielle LOVES her. (Could be the whole Disney Princess thing.)


BJ had a busy week. He has been practicing all week for the Mr. LCHS pageant at school. Yeah thats right. A MAN PAGEANT. All in all, despite losing, it was a great experience. He did a great dance routine from the movie Napolean Dynamite for his talent portion. He looked GREAT in his tuxedo for the formal wear as well. I unfortuantely was not manning the camera...Dad was, so no photos...only video.


At the end of the competition, he had to select a special lady to dance with from the audience. He picked his little sister. (AWWWWWWWWW) We thought that might tug at the heartstrings of the judges. We were wrong. I will admit, it brought a little tear to my eye. Danielle was a little embarrassed at first with the stage and the bright lights and all, but once she and BJ made their first twirl, she was ok. About 3/4 of the way through the song, she let him off the hook and he finished out the dance with his Ariel. All that is left is for us to start the chant of "wait til next year". Special thanks to Busia and Dzizdzia for attending and cheering BJ on at the show. (Busia and Danielle got to sit in the FRONT ROW!!!!!)

What a weekend....

Nothing like a quick flight home to enjoy not one but two parties. Here are a few pics. Thanks to cousin Zachary for teaching Danielle the wonders of celery. Now Danielle cant get enough of it. With DIP of course.

We also chose to add the photo of SupaBusia blowing out her tealite. Nothing like a good cake to celebrate another year with .

Special thanks go out to Uncle Norman for entertaining Danielle with the balloon game along with her cousins. She is looking forward to many more rounds of balloon batting on our summer vacation.

We are looking forward to a restful weekend here in Lake Villa.

Bears Day

So, Its Bears Wear day at almost every location known to Illinois today. And Danielle asks: "Mommy, why cant I wear my Michigan clothes for the football day?" I think to myself that maybe I have done something right afterall. The answer...why it wouldnt match her pretty pink bows.

Danielle got her hair straightened the other day...Just with a flat iron at the salon. Nothing too drastic yet. She cant stop flinging her hair about. I dont know if you can tell in the photos or not. Its about down to the middle of her back when straight. AND she wants MOMMY to learn how to do it. It took one hour and 24 minutes to do at the salon. I dont think she would sit that long for me, but we shall see....bet those photos never make it to the blog.

Other than that...nothing really new here. Danielle and Daddy are taking her friend Sarah to the Disney on Ice Sunday before the superbowl....AND then the big game. Again, Danielle asks why Michigan isnt in the Superbowl. I hope her Dziadz has a good answer for that one...I pushed it off on him today.
