The Adventures of Danielle and BJ

Back to normal....

Well, we are all back to work, day care, etc...from summer vacations. The dogs were happy to see us, well at least Graycie was until Danielle made her a visor.

Danielle's daycare (PitterPatter) had a variety show the day after we got home. Danielle's classroom did a routine to "Old Time Rock and Roll". Danielle and her friends did a great job. Here she is with one of her favorite girlfriends....Sarah. (Danielle and Sarah are inseperable at school).

So, as for what else we have been doing....BJ is getting ready for senior year. We are scheduling senior portraits, getting our selves geared up for the Cross Country season, and the ever popular applying to colleges. (YIKES...when did he get to be so old.)

Danielle is enjoying her last bit of summer heat....its getting darker earlier again on us....but there is still some time to play in the sprinkler in the back yard.

Lakeside Cabins Resort

We just returned from Mommy's family trip to Michigan....Mommy's home sweet home. Here is our almost all of us group photo.

We started the weekend with a birthday celebration for Uncle John. Here the kids try to decide how many candles. LOTS!!

Then there was the tshirt painting courtesy of Auntie Michele.
Danielle chose to paint a Go White Sox tribute. Did i mention that the paint was permanent...and she was wearing her new Game Day pink Michigan jersey? Oh well. The kids had a great time with their first craft of the week.

I think we went off to the pool next. Many of you know that Danielle has had fears of getting her face and hair wet now for years. Thanks to a little coaxing from Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Teddy and Aunt Michele...and peer pressure from her bigger cousins that swim like fish, our little girl progressed from just walking around the pool, to putting her face in, to swimming with her vest, to swimming on her own...All in the shallow end, but if I do say so myself, quite an impressive turnaround.

It was great fun to swim with our family.

Danielle also enjoyed fishing. Here is Busia with her first fish ever. Danielle caught two fish...I dont know why I didnt get a picture of that.

Many thanks to Uncle Chris for untangling lines and teaching us how to not "back reel". Also, thank goodness he was there to put our "fish magnets" on the line for us.

All in all, a great time was had by all. It was good for the kids to reconnect with family. The resort was beautiful and peaceful. Barney's was outstanding. Hopefully, next year there will be longer S'more sessions and fewer campfire rain outs.

Thanks to all for a great vacation.
