There he is....MR LCHS

BJ competed in the MR LCHS contest this year and won the title.

He and Danielle did a dance for the talent competition. It was adorable. Busia, Dziadzia and Brian were there to cheer the kids on...(I am a little under the weather but was there in spirit!!!)

Not many Moms get to say that their son won a beauty pageant, complete with career ambitions, the swimsuit competition, and of course the talent show. Maybe someday, you will all be able to come here and try on the crown.

Hope all is well where you are. Turnabout is tonight so I will hopefully have some great photos of BJ and his date.

Winter fun

Brian, Danielle and I spent some time out in the snow yesterday. We had gone out bowling (Danielle rolled a 119!) and just as we got home it started to snow. Danielle decided it was a good idea to go sledding.

Brian built Danielle her own "mountain" out front so that she had something to slide down.

The dogs even got in on the action. Although the itty bitty dog couldn't hang! She started to shiver after just one quick roll in the snow.

Today, we woke up to bitterly cold temps and wind chill. UGH. Hope all is WARM where you are.

Toothless

Danielle lost both of her front teeth recently....They didn't come out without a fight either. She is really happy to have more "Big People" teeth.

One pink boot.

I'm quite sure that all of you parents out there know the drill....you pack snowpants, boots, mittens, scarf, hat, etc...You do it diligently in the winter. You dont want your child to be the cold one (or if youre ME, you dont want to be viewed as one of THOSE parents). And at the end of the school/daycare day, you check that all of your things are returned home.

SO, I arrive home on Thursday evening and I see one lonely pink boot in Danielle's back pack. I dont panic yet, because history says that the other one is probably laying somewhere else in the house.

Brian looks at me and I can tell that he has something to tell me. And I can tell that its not a good thing either. All he can say is "we got one boot". What he means is that we have one boot left. Apparantly, Danielle and her friends were out for second recess and she somehow, someway, got "shoved" into a snow pile. A deep one. Her two feet, with two boots went into the snowpile. To her dismay, one booted foot came out and one BARE foot came out. She lost her boot and sock in a snow pile.

Per the report of my 6 year old...."we looked for my boot in the hole Mommy". Apparantly, the pile of snow ATE the boot. Danielle adds..."Even Mr. Maintenance went outside with a shovel Mommy, but he couldt find it. He digged (sorry to all the English majors in the family) and digged, but he never found my pink boot." How do you lose a bright pink boot in a pile of white snow? How are they NOT able to find the boot? When the snow melts, there better be a bright pink boot (with a sock) sitting there on the playground.

Danielle received a piggy back ride into the school from Mrs.Drogscz.

Thank goodness that we still have last years boots....even more thank goodness that they still sort of fit. (also pink).

Moral of the story....stay away from the snowpile on your way in from recess.
