Why this car is Automatic....

It's systomatic.....It's Hyyyydddromatic....why its Greased Lightening.....(that was their song for the routine).

The girls did a fabulous job today at their competition at Prospect High School in Mt.Prospect. Unfortunately, the video is too long to upload. But take my word for it...it was DYNAMITE. For Danielle's first cheer competition experience, we had no idea what to expect, so we just went with the flow. (I know, not easy for a part Rezler to do.)

Here are a few being silly right when we got there....

And right after their superb performance...

Here she is waiting for the awards ceremony with best friend, Sarah.

And here, when they announced the winning team in the Grade 2 and under category....

Hey D? What's that you got there? Oh yeah Baby...That's some GOLD...Hardware,Bling, Mantle Decoration....Go Wolves!!!

It was a long, long, long day. We had to arrive before 10AM and the awards ceremony concluded at about 3:25. The girls did great for being so young...and not being able to watch any of the other routines. They kept the girls out in a "holding" room for most of the day. Mommy is tired. Danielle is tired, but she doesn't know it yet. But...it was a good day. Mommy is proud of her.

Next week we get to do it all over again...a little closer to home.

Getting ready for our first competition!!!

Danielle and her cheer friends had a dress rehearsal for their first cheer competition coming up this Sunday!! I thought I would share some of this video with you.

Wow!!! Look at that toe touch jump!!! Go Girls!!!!

Danielle is way in the back for that part....It's the price she pays for being tall.

That was Danielle's favorite part. She likes the shimmy your shoulders part!!!

She also likes to make bunny ears on people when taking pictures. Here we are being silly waiting for the rehearsal to start.

She cheers in her last game of the season today!!! Sad and happy all at the same time. Her game today is the "Bowl Game". (For 7 year olds?) They are playing on a high school field so that should be fun for her.

We will keep you posted on how the competition goes.

We also took her to the pumpkin patch last weekend. Here she and Brian are pretending to be cowboys?

Run BJ Run...the College Edition

Busia, Danielle and I made our first trip to watch BJ run for Carthage on Friday afternoon.

They were off and running at 2:30pm, on the dot. Instead of a starter's gun they used a cannon. We were all impressed by that.
Here is a shot of BJ at the first place we could see him from the infield. They tell me it was at about a mile and a half or so. He ran past us at about 8 minutes here, so I think that's just about right.

And here he comes charging for the finish line. Not sure if you can really see him coming or not in the photo, but trust me, he is coming up the way soon.

Here he is about to cross the finish line. He still looked strong at this point and had some kick into the gate, so that was really exciting to see. He finished the 8k in well under 30 minutes (29:30) and came in 81st place.

But here is my favorite of the day...after the race with his biggest fan.

As a side note, those of you keeping up with Danielle's Twolves...this week she cheered for Bantam White (not a team she usually cheers for...she usually gets Bantam Black). They ended after 4 quarters of a defensive battle in a scoreless tie. The other team declined the chance to play in sudden death overtime.
