"Hey Mommy? 'GOoooo'"

I should have seen this one coming....

When I got home from work today, Danielle and Dziadzia were watching Michigan play Minnesota. I went upstairs to change my clothes and get Danielle started on her homework in my bedroom. (No math tonight, thank goodness!) The game was on upstairs in my bedroom as well.

I went back downstairs to watch the rest of the first half with DziaDzia while I got some dinner started for Danielle. As we were watching downstairs, DeShawn hit a 3 pointer. It was music to my ears to hear her cheer upstairs for him!!! (My Dad and I exchanged a little smile!! Another fan is hooked)

After DzizDzia left at halftime, I went upstairs to check on the little one. The conversation goes like this....

D: hey Mommy?

J: yes

D: GO

J: Huh?

D: Mommy!!! GO (getting impatient)

J: Go where, Danielle? Where do you want Mommy to go?

D: MOMMY, when I say GO you say BLUE. Now do it....GO

J: ((DUH) BLUE!!!!

Sunday afternoon in Evanston

We had tickets this afternoon to watch the Wolverines play Northwestern. When we arrived at the arena, we got to walk around on the gym floor level. We took a quick peek past the security guards while the Wolverines were warming up before the game. Danielle could not believe how tall some of the players were. She was very shy. I kept telling her to come closer to the court so she could see the guys, but she didn't want to. Somehow, I made eye contact with DeShawn Sims. He looked at Danielle and came right over. I told her to give him a high five for luck and she warmed up to him a bit. She gave him a great big high five. We told him to have a good game and he ran back. Then Brian had a brainstorm. He said "hey did you get a picture?" DUH, no. So, I had to call him over again. He came right back and took a quick picture with her. (How cool was that of him?)




Look how big that hand is on her shoulder!!! He was really, really tall.

And they won! Danielle got to do the "GO BLUE" cheer with the fans that were on the other side of the arena. (We even got to be the side that yelled "Blue"). And she got to put her "magic fingers" up in the air when we shot free throws. (Even BRIAN did that for the Wolverines!!! Can you believe it?)

She told me when we got home from the game that she needs a #34 shirt now since her and DeShawn are friends. And that she can't wait to go to another game.


BJ also enjoyed himself. He has changed his appearance a little bit though...

A great time was had by all. We will see the fellas again next year in Evanston. Maybe we can catch Manny's attention next year.
