Purple Village Music Show and other Stuff

Danielle had her spring concert for her village at school a week or so ago. We thought we would share some of the fun. The teacher gave us a minute or two prior to the show starting to take some still photos after the kids had filed onto the risers.

Unfortunately, Danielle got stuck behind a tall boy...Ben. So, for much of my video all I can see of her is hair and sweater!!

For whatever reason today blogger isnt letting me post video....those will hopefully follow soon.

So, on to other photos...

Danielle and Becca also had a recent play date. Here they are painting.

We also recently went on our Spring Break up to the Dells to stay for a few nights at a water park. One of Danielle's favorite spots to hang out was the hot tub. It was one of those half indoor, half outdoor ones. Mommy actually got a pretty nasty cold from the going outside with a wet head scenario. I guess my mother was right about that afterall.

The kids (and Daddy) also made their own stuffed animal while up there. We all had a great time, especially Danielle, but as I get older, hotel rooms get smaller!!

On the dotted line?

I took BJ on a college visit this afternoon to Judson University in Elgin, Illinois. It's a small, private school about an hour's drive from our house. We went to meet with the Cross Country coach there. Judson is relaunching a Cross Country team this upcoming fall.

We saw the athletic facilities while we met with the Coach. Not bad for a small school.

As we are wrapping up the conversation about the family atmosphere at the school, the coach pulls out an envelope and gives it to BJ. THAT'S RIGHT BABY....its a scholarship offer...to run Cross Country for the Judson University Eagles. The offer will turn into an letter of intent should BJ decide that Judson is the place for him.

Sitting there watching him read his offer was such a moment for me. I cant tell you how proud I was in words that will do the moment justice. I was glad that I was the one there with him.

After we met with the Coach, we went on a tour of the campus. Dziadzia says he thinks its 14 buildings...I didnt count. It wasnt a long walk, I know that. (Nothing like when I was in college and had to walk to class miles and miles away in a snowstorm, up hill, both ways.....)

Oh wait...have I mentioned that should BJ choose to sign, he will be required to attend Chapel three times a week? Yup. Also...no dancing on campus. (I told him he can dance after his 4 years are up).

The ball is in BJ's court. He has a lot of thinking to do....I will keep you posted. If he signs, you will probably hear me screaming for joy.

What's that in your backpack?

It might be...it could be...YES, it is. A pink boot and a sock...both soaking wet but recovered from the playground. After a 60 degree day yesterday, the large snowpile on the playground melted, and there sitting lonely and cold was Danielle's boot, complete with sock formed like her little foot inside of it. Mr. Maintenance rescued the boot and returned it to a wide eyed 6 year old (i think she had actually forgotten about it).

The boot is home and happy. ( I think it's happy to be home anyway). Let's hope that there is no more snow!!
