What's that in your backpack?
It might be...it could be...YES, it is. A pink boot and a sock...both soaking wet but recovered from the playground. After a 60 degree day yesterday, the large snowpile on the playground melted, and there sitting lonely and cold was Danielle's boot, complete with sock formed like her little foot inside of it. Mr. Maintenance rescued the boot and returned it to a wide eyed 6 year old (i think she had actually forgotten about it).
The boot is home and happy. ( I think it's happy to be home anyway). Let's hope that there is no more snow!!

Is this an April Fool's Day trick that you and Danielle are playing on us?

One more thing...does the rescued and returned pink boot (with sock) know where its partner boot(the one lounging around at home, toasty and warm, but sockless for weeks) might be? I know it is April but this is the Midwest and one or two more snowstorms are not out of the realm of possibiity. Keep both boots dry and ready just in case.
Does Mr. Maintenance get any kind of reward?

Did you make sure that $50 was still in it???? If not Mr. Maintenance has some splaining to do.
Good question Busia... I would've pitched the sock by now... maybe not the boot, but for sure the sock.
Boot and sock are both safe. sock is washed/sanitized and snuggled safely with partner that desperately missed it's other half.
We now have original pink boots and spare pair.
No April fool's joke Busia.

How far was the snow pile from school? (Translation... how long was the barefoot jaunt through snow?)
