Metamorphosis

Danielle and I were driving to tumbling class last night and as usual, she was telling me about her day at school. Now, there are times when I admittedly half listen because I am thinking about work, or the gagillion other things we have going on...but for some reason, not last night.

She was telling me a story about what they are learning about in science class...amphibians. After some talking about frogs and tadpoles and larva, she busts out with two sentences...
1.) "Mommy, did you know that the word amphibian comes from two ancient words and means two lives when you put them together?"

2.) "The reason that the word to lives is significant is because amphibians experience metamorphosis when they change from their baby life to their grown up life."

First of all....Wow. When did she get to be so grown? And secondly...when did she start saying things like significant, and experience, and metamorphosis?

Seems like just yesterday I was trying for things like MaMa or DaDa.

Metamorphosis.

Sentence #2 applies here: Even though you are not wanting it to happen Danielle is beginning to experience her own metamorphosis and changing from her baby life to her young lady life. Cherish every memory and every minute. Next stop will be those teen years and then that grown up life of which she spoke.
